We are an established family business operated by Jayne, Aimee & Kyra.

Our legacy comes from Ray Thorby, our father/grandfather, who inspired our passion for perfection, style, elegance and fun.

We are dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming environment in addition to beautiful hair. With a wonderful team of experienced stylists, your needs will always be met in an abundance of knowledge.

OUR JOURNEY
2009
Jayne purchased the salon in April 2009 when the decor was tired and the salon ran down. Following a rebrand and full refit the following year, Veronica Jayne transformed, expanding the team from three to six.
2009 - 2019
In true VJ fashion, we kept the moment going, investing in education and fun to strengthen the team. Between 2009 - 2019, we had a number of conference and training trips that took us to Hawaii, Fiji, Los Angeles, South Africa, Germany, Japan, and Cambodia.
The entire VJ team attended concerts at the Mission Estate Winery and Black Barn in Hawke’s Bay, Wellington’s Westpac Stadium, Queenstown, Auckland, attended the World of Wearable Art (WOW), and headed along to the Hair Expo in Melbourne and Sydney. Talk about team building, travel, training and togetherness!
2019
We had our most recent refit done in 2019 and now we have the salon of our dreams!
2020
We are entering a new phase of the business with Kérastase and L’Oreal; beautiful brands that epitomise who we are and what we believe: affordable, luxury. Veronica Jayne continues to be a family based business ( four of our team members are family) with strong values and a commitment to beautiful hair.
2011
In 2011, Veronica Jayne was recognised nationally as a ‘Top Wella Salon’ and Aimee was recognised in a national competition that’s acknowledged internationally. It was a very exciting year to say the least!
2015
We continued to grow - so much so we outgrew our space. Come 2015, we expanded into the shop next door and invited our now manager Kyra to join the team -- bringing our total up to eight.
Our clients are our focus but our environment and team growth is equally important.
We’ve entered regional and national competitions striving to have fun together while enjoying the creativity and freedom competing brings. We focus on building relationships with other like-minded salons and businesses often collaborating with in-salon education training and events.
